Exhaust Pictures Please

Trying to figure out what to do for exhaust on my 72 C-10. I purchased a kit from Heartthrob Exhaust and after fighting with it the last two weekends I'm giving up. I would like to find a kit or something that I can put together at home. I was hoping for some ideas if you guys wouldn't mind posting some pictures with details for some inspration. Thanks in advance.

Here is what my 70 lwb looks like underneath..nasty, but the new exhaust is flawless..mufflers tucked up in front of rear tires...single drive shaft now...ECE drop..

Sweet! Have you ever thought about having a custom one made?

I used the Heart Throb kit. I had to weld in a small section of pipe on the driver's side down pipe to make it clear the A/T bracket. I didn't like the tailpipes, so I turned them down and cut the ends off them. This is what I ended up with:

Where exactly are you having problems with the kit?

Thanks for the pictures guys. My prolbems are with the passenger side lead pipe hanging about 2 inches lower than the drivers side pipe, I'm going to try to take it to the exhaust shop and see if they can bend it a few more degrees. My second prolbem is with the pipe that goes over the trailing arms, with the pipe connected it hits the bottom of the cab and hits on the frame, the other prolbem is the mufflers point down towards the rearend so much that the tailpapies hit the rearend. I see you have your mufflers running vertical and I have mine laying flat. I'm going to give that a try and see if that makes a difference.

I just resently went through same thing with a stainless magna flow system. Also hab problems with rear pass side pipe. Ended up calling them and they sent me a new pipe (after telling me it would be indentical to the one originally sent) and the new was better, but still had to heat and bend!! was a real big pain!! This was probably not what you wanted to here....

here's a pic (not a great one, sorry) of one of the fit problems i was having. You'll probably have to take it to an exhaust place and have it properly bent, which is ashame after all these system cost.

Here is mine, ordered the kit made for our trucks, a magna flow stainless pipes and dual mufflers. The fit was easy with some minor adjustments. Wouldn't be right if it was a perfect fit.

glad your magnaflow went on better than mine. I will say their customer service did try and fix the problem, and they sound great.

That's a really good price. Did that include the mufflers too?

yes, they are an off brand but they sound really good to me i like the chamber hollow sound. He is the cheapest of 3 we have in my small town and has been in bussiness for years. He gave me a repeat customer discount too.

Hey Digger This might come a little late but here is a setup i did on mine! did it myself 3" pipe and had some old mufflers i could use, i did a small s bend just where the frame starts to bend down then ran a straight 3" pipe between the frame rail and inner rocker, cut a small peace of the cab out and mounted the muffler there. i did this as my truck is on air and i didn't want to see any exshauts hangin down. works real well no heat problems :metal: hope this helps.
