Steering on the cloumn shifter question
Hi, my shifter on the column is very slack/sloppy/loose. It seems that the shifter does not have the return action. Gear selection is fine but I fear that the shifter could "fall" into "reverse" on its own from "park". I have fixed the sloppy steering column by doing searches but I cannot seem to find any info on how to fix this. Could anybody here please point me in the right direction ? Thanks in advance. 85LWB/350/700r4

Re: Steering on the cloumn shifter question
Did not know about the shifter on the floor option. Thanks, but I kinda like to keep it stock looking, for now at least.:o
I hope that the truck doesn't hit anything, lol, I like my beat-up 85 as it stands. I am not too much into the looks of my truck, I rather have a mechanically sound and dependable truck. Looks like that I have to tear into the steering column again. Not looking forward to it as I might not be able to drive the truck till I can figure it all out. Can anyone tell me if the pin holding the gear selector on the column is just a simple punch out pin or there is more to it ? Thanks again. |
