replacing wood floor with steel

Hey, gonna start working on my stepper soon, and was wondering if any one has replaced the wood floor with factory steel from a fleet. I am looking to do this just as a temporary fix until $ allows a full wood floor with stainless strips and hard ware. I also want this to look good and not hacked, I think I will be able to lay it over the sills, and hold it down on the sides with the factory angles, just not sure what to do on the front and back

Just wondering if anyone has done this, or has any pics?

I kinda like your inovative thinking, but I'm not that energetic. I'm holding off till my wife gets tired of my crying at her to have my money to buy some Oak wood.

Do you use the bed a lot?

I am just going to put a Tonneau on mine for now until I get the bed done...

Getting the ribbed steel floor seems like a hassle to me, since it's fully welded into the bed. Why not just a sheet of plywood?

They only have two small welds holding them in, the rest is all bolted together.

thats a good idea, but still wouldn't mind being able to use it if needed. So might consider that and throw a sheet of plywood in too, then you don't see it.

ya I already have a floor with no sides on it, but I think all the cross sills are spotted on to, forgot about that. So might be a bit of drilling involved.
