Those mounts pictured are not OE 72 big block towers, they look to be from the 73 and up vintage. Mel :chevy:

Hi Brian, below are a few pictures of the real deal one year 72 big block towers & clamshells. The look, shape, height and mounting hole dimensions changed on the later stands/towers. I have seen the 73 & up type come in on a few 67-72 BBC converted trucks, but they have been made to work w/re-drilling and extra mock up work, I have even seen spacers used on the top of frame rails on some of these modded creations. I am in no way trying to start up a debate here in your FS thread (these guys know who they are ;)) as the later type can be made to work and for some they are fine with the non OE type due to the rarity/cost factor of the real 72's, just trying to save you a possible hassle from an unknowing buyer who maybe going for the period correct looking big block conversion. Mel is correct, those are 73 and up. Quickest way to tell is the 72 have only one bump on top. The 73 and newer have 2. If you look in the FAQ, i did a write up with pics not too long ago.

They're not crap, but not much compared to 72 bbc stands. I picked up some of these from a junk yard last week. Paid $30 including the clamshells.
