Clutch & Z Bar Linkage
HELP!!!! Im in the middle of hookin up the clutch linkage, and am havin a heck of a time. I went to the junk yard and got the Z-bar and linkage from the clutch pedal. The trans has the old style clutch fork. I took and made the the z-bar attachment that bolts onto the frame with a piece of angle stock. All that turned out great. The problems now start. I tried to hook up the clutch linkage from the pedal and it wont reach the Z-bar. The angle is too great. So I took a piece of flat stock, drilled two holes in it and attached one end to the clutch linkage and the other I took a grade 8 bolt and made the stud to attach to the Z-bar. The fulcrum is wrong.
What I need is someone to send me a pic showing how the Z-Bar is attached to the clutch linkage. It is greatly appreciated. Its a 69 chevy cst 350 v8 with NP833 4sp OD tranny. |
Re: Clutch & Z Bar Linkage
I don't have a picture myself, but I use the LMC catalog a lot to see how things go together.
Hopefully some one will post a picture for you soon. |
Re: Clutch & Z Bar Linkage
Thanks ShyGuy! I figured it out. The Adjustment rod for the clutch fork was too short. I made a longer one and the clutch releases now. I had enough throw on the clutch pedal. I still have enough adjustment to go more if I need to.:metal:

Re: Clutch & Z Bar Linkage
This may be stupid but did you adjust the rod out all the way, is the fork hooked up to the z rod. What year is the clutch system
