adding power steering
I have a couple questions on adding power steering to my 69 c10 that did not originally come with it. I was wondering what pumps will work off what year trucks on a 69. Also the truck not being a power steering truck i will need a new pitman arm, and i was wondering what year i can get that off of as well. Thanks

Re: adding power steering
The pumps and steering boxes work a LONG time . like up to 87 or so. The onlt thing is the General changed the end type[flare vs. o-ring] on the hose. You have choices there you can remove the big nut fitting on the back of the pump[houses the pressure valve] and replace it with an older style or use a box of of a newer trck that matches the pump and the box or you also can buy conversoin fitting. Aside from the pump and bow you will need a pressure line , return line, pitman arm and I also think that the idler arm is also different. This is a swpa I am plannig for the near future on my last 70 that came in last week[along with power brakes ,headers, HEI, 4BBLand intake. rallys and a5 speed overdrive with a van tilt with smothed shifter bowls so it looks like a factory floor shift tilt]

Re: adding power steering
If you can get the whole set-up off of an engine with the same water pump length then you should be good to go.Don't forget to get "ALL" of the pulleys as they can be a real pain to match to a conversion like this.
