Shock reccomendations?
 

Need (want) new shocks for my 71 Cheyenne 10 2wd long-bed 350 4-speed. 80k original on the clock, gotta assume the shocks are original, as they look it . Not leaking, truck handles fine. Just looking to get a little "better" handling and feel. I drive mountain roads, twists and curves abound. I'd like to make her feel more "planted" without lowering, as she's a work-horse most times.

Ideas/experiences, anyone?

Yeah, I have always liked KYB's. Part numbers to look for? Their website doesn't give applications.....

Another easy add on if you don't have it is a sway bar.Should be able to get a bar off of any 67-86 truck.Get all the brackets.Usually only run the front one since the rear is usually lower in CG.

Just put some Monroe Sensatracs on,I am satisfied.They were suggested by a buddy that owns a Tire shop.

Check with Bilstein shocks for your truck.
I just put them on all four corners of the 1970 K10, and it is a night and day difference from the Rancho style shocks it had on before.

Bilsteins are nitrogen charged, compared to the emulsion shock.

They are expensive, but money well spent in my book.

I think Sensatracs are for a softer ride, but Monroe's site suggested Reflex for mine. Haven't driven it yet because it's in a million pieces still.

That's what I put on my '69...Monroe Sensatrac's

I'm happy with em...I wanted Rancho's, but they were too much $$$

I got Monroe Reflex on the truck last year after the Monroe Gas-Matics lasted 10 years of commuting to work. The Reflex ride real nice.

^ Very good to hear :metal: Reflex's I think are more for working trucks. Sensatrac's more for passenger cars and Rancho's for 4 wheeling. That's not to say you cannot put whichever ones on you'd like.
