backing for covering interrior walls and ceiling

Im gathering materials for doing my panel truck.Working on iteks for interrior walls and ceiling.I plan to do custom upholstery and wondering what works best for backing.Thought maybe luan. I do have cpl pieces that require custom wood working, which i can do no problem.I'm doing two tone with cpl flip out pieces and custom amp display.Had idea of making sides hinged at bottom for hidded storage,no not planning drug smuggling. I build custom entertainment centers and my specaility is hidden compartments and specail features.
So if ou have covered inside of panel or burb and know something that works great or if your experianced at upholstery let me know.

You can buy sheets of ABS plastic from a local plastic supplier or online. You can mold it to fit your needs with a heat gun.
