Factory dealer add AC system or not?

3 Attachment(s)
I bought this truck to part out here some time soon. First I'm trying to figure out if this AC system is dealer add-on AC or Aftermaret. It uses the original AC pump and brackets. The under dash unit has correct knobs for a 72-down truck and has GM emblem. I have never seen one of these. It looks to me to be a GM system. Anybody know?

I posted a thread recently and one like this was confirmed to be a dealer add-on

Thanks for the info VA72C10. This truck will be parted out. I will be using the cab, doors, interior, and front clip to restore my 69 C30 car hauler. It's even the correct color! The box and gate will be used for my 72 Super. It is a one owner truck that has been garaged it's entire life. The interior is perfect including the rubber mat. There is no rust! It has a bad locked up 350 engine. It came with a 73 454 which will also go into the 69 car hauler. I'm not sure if I will keep or sell the AC and the tach cluster. When I decide I will go down the list in order. Thanks

Wow, you mention those two little words ["part out"] around here and these guys are like hungry vultures descending on a roadside carcass. Give the man a brake guys, this isn't even the "parts for sale" side of the forum. Geesh! The guy was simply asking a question about the underdash A/C unit. It looks like it could for sure be a dealer add on. It looks like the center is notched out over the tunnel for 4-speed truck. Joseph

Saw an under dash unit just like that on eBay awhile back, it went for over 500 bucks and wasn't nearly as nice condition as that one

Exactly! The OP made the mistake of saying it would be parted and it went downhill from there.

This is NOT a For Sale post, so there is no line. If posting in that manner continues this thread will be closed.

I agree guys and I normally don't request to get in line on that type of post, but if you check you will see it was originally posted in the " parts for sale" forum. It was moved here after the posts were made. Not looking for any trouble, but thought a little clarification was in order. If it had been in any other forum I would have left it alone.

:agree: That was the reason for my post. Now that I know that the post has been moved there will be no more response from me for parts to this thread. :mm:
