my RPM's at 60 MPH

So got that tach in the truck today and went down the road.. Seems I a seeing 3000 RPM at 60 MPH. I am running 255-60-15 rear tires (almost new). The speedo may be a tad off so will verify with the GPS tomorrow because it started raining.

I also need to verify the rear end ratio. I thought I had 3:73 gears, at least that is what we figured out when we measured a full rotation.

What do you all think.... anybody figure out my rear end ratio by RPM and Tire Size vs speed. If the speedo is off it is by only a couple MPH...

I have 33" tires with 3.73's, TH400, and turn 2600ish at 60MPH. So I'd say you have a 3.73.

wondering what would be a nice fat tire on the rear to bring that rpm down some when driving that would give a nice fat rod look on the rear...

You could try 285-70, they are about 31" tall. I don't think BFG makes them anymore though.

You will have to go taller with the tire, OD trans, or Gear vendors overdrive. It is much cheaper to just change gears.

Another option is Michelin LTX ms, they have a 30-9.50 and would go on a 8" rim nicely.:)
