My 2 projects

Hey guys, i picked up 2 trucks, an 86 SWB Silverado, and a 67 small window GMC stepper.

I started on the 86, and it is currently down to the frame
But I really like the 67 step side body style, but it has some rust, and I decided the 67 will be my keeper and main project.

Plan is to keep the stock look but lowered a good bit. I have an Oldsmobile 455 that is waiting to be built, and will be the new engine.

I am probably going to sell the 86, or try to trade it for body work etc. on the 67.

Any advice on lowering it without bagging?

Kind regards,

Welcome aboard from Central Florida and thanks for your military service and sacrafice.
2-1/2" drop spindles with 1" drop springs up front, 5" drop springs (if you have coils) with a adjustable track bar and shock relocator kit. If you have a leaf rear I will let someone else chip in on that.
Good luck.

RenoKeene, thanks for your kind words and input!

I'm going to do all the mechanical stuff on the truck, but i'm hoping to find someone to do all the body work etc. on my 67, in exchange for the 86 Silverado. I'm near Asheville, NC. if you know anyone interested in a deal like that.

Kind regards

gidday mate-welcome from new zealand
great looking truck-love that weathered look!
what happenned to the windscreen??-too low for the drivers head and funny place to break-in to it?
you should have a crack at the panel work yourself if you got time- its not that hard and after hearing differing sad stories on here and other websites about some panel shops i'd be worried about sending it out and paying for it even if its a swap.
anyway-- your choice and i look forward to following progress on here.

The slammed truck belongs to a buddy of mine... he's X-cabsquarebody on the c10forum. I got the 67 from him

sharpmark, the truck sat in a field for many years, not sure how the windshield got broken, looks like something fell on the top, and smashed the cab top over and back about 2-3 inches. I've done body work before, but i have absolutely no tools anymore except a DA sander, and a compressor, so if I'm going to do it myself, I guess I better get to buying some stuff :)
