Coil Spring Question

Hello all...My '72 C-20 has listed on the SPID an "IG5010 Heavy Rear Sring". Is this just a beefier rear coil spring or does it imply that it might have had the 2-leaf auxiliary helper springs on it at one time. Thanks for any info.

:welcome2: from Texas!
Yes, there were heavy duty coil springs, I took a set off of a truck and put them on my brothers truck, it really stiffend up the rear. There was also an aux spring which was a helper overload leaf spring
Hope that helps

Re: Coil Spring Question

Hey...Thanks for the quick reply...I do have the lower (axle mounted) aux spring brackets. Was the auxiliary rear spring an uncommon option? I am redoing this truck to pull my Restored Farmall tractors around with, so any help with the rear suspension is a goal of mine. Thanks again.

Re: Coil Spring Question

My SWB '69 had 2000-lb cap'y coils on the rear, when new. Uhh, it rode rough. New coils from ECE....took care of the problem.
