stock trans in 71 k20?

what kind of manual trans would have come stock in a 71 k20? a np 205 would be the correct t-case right?

I'm not sure,but I believe the standard transmission was a 3spd and the 4spd was on option. I know K/10s were that way.

Would they be year specific? Would a transmission from a 79 fit a tcase from a 69?

If the trans is the same along with the t-case, yes they will interchange
