zinc plating

Thinking of having all the original bolts, latches, etc. plated. Has anyone got a DIY kit and done themselves or had it done somewhere?

Check out the last page of my build thread. I did one piece so far and will be doing more with the kit I got from eastwood. I think its a tin plating kit if I remember right but may have some zinc in it too.

Spoke to a man named terry that works for industrial coatings in Gastonia NC and his quote was $50 for a 5 gallon bucket of parts. I can't buy the Eastwood kit and do it myself for that!

Take him up on that, its a deal. Several years ago I bought the Caswell kit and did a few quadrajets and other small parts, it is a complete time killer! I got pretty good results but it really wasn't worth the time. I have put it all away for a rainy day and hope that the chemicals are still good. It was one of those things I always wanted to do, did it and moved on to the next thing.
