Rookie header bolt ?

Is there any reason I cant use standard bolts on my headers. The bolts that are on there have Allen heads and are old as crap. Im gonna replace my gaskets and wanna replace the bolts while I'm there. Clearance is the only issue I could think of and I should be able to get to regular bolt heads easier then I can the ones on there. If I can find a good pic of what's on there ill post.

Local auto parts store should have some header bolts in stock with the smaller head on them so they are easier to get in/out.

There's nothing special about header bolts except the heads are designed for clearance around the tubes. If you can get a wrench on regular bolts, you can use those.

I have always liked to use bolts with higher nickel content that can stand the heating up and cooling off expansion cycle. Most standard bolts are designed for a constant stress load not associated with heat cycles.
