Question about weather stripping/seals

So I need to replace all the weather stripping and seals on my doors...vent window seals, window glass run, window seals and weather strip on the cab. Where's the best place to buy them? Is lmc truck any good?
Also there is a piece of weather stripping on the door itself that run around the top half of the door. I cant seem to find replacements for those. any tips?

Re: Question about weather stripping/seals

Unless I'm mis-informed, most of the weatherstripping is made by Precision, so shop where you like to. (my information came from multiple web postings and the local GMC dealership. Parts guy told me to shop around, I could probably as quick or quicker than he could. For the same box.)

The complete kit does not contain the on-door strip. LMC does sell it separate (maybe, catalog says 79-81?) I did the weatherstrip abt 5 yrs ago on the '73. My door strips were in decent shape, so I re-glued them on.

LMC- page 15 (bottom diagram, #5) part #,38-6948 (LH) 38-6949 (RH)
Just happen to have the catalog in hand.:)

I just finished looking around and the best price so far was classic chevy truck $65 for the kit.G.M. had some but $70 each for just one window channel.

I would be interested in this as well. Thinking about taking my factory GM doors out of the boxes and putting them on when I get to that part of my build.

Re: Question about weather stripping/seals

I haven't shopped for them in a long time, but when I was looking JC Whitney was the cheapest. (had a free shipping thing at the time.)

Feel free to support one of our site vendors...:metal:

Got mine for my Suburban from classic parts. No complaints from me, and they were cheaper than LMC.

If you have an 81-85 truck you'll need to know specifically if you have a one piece or two piece style vent weatherstrip. Not a lot of companies list the 2 piece style.

The weatherstrip on top of the door is called the upper door weatherstrip. Look at the top 2 results here: http://precisionrestorationparts.com...trip&go=Search

Let me know if I can help!
