Am I crazy?
 

Located a short stepper on c- list. Inline six with automatic trans. He is asking 3500. The owner says it is original drive train, spid, and frame. I know I know. lol He also says it only has rust in drivers rocker and cab coner. He also said he has original buyers sheet. He said it runs and drives pretty good. I am hesitate to go check it out. Oh yeah, did I mention it is over 5 hours away one way.

10 hour round trip is a long way but they arent exactly falling out of the sky and into your laps. [Unless your Rene JK]. Sounds like it might be worth the trip. I have made many a water hual or goat rope or what ever you call them [waste of time and gas to travel to look at wrecks to build , over the last almost 30 years since I have been in business and I consider it part of the business so, I guess it should be considered part of the fun of the enjoyment of the hobby. Take the wife or g/f [but not both!]]make an overnight cheap trip if you can a little get away if your able just have fun with it as you would any other part of the hobby

Maybe you could post this in your region and someone on the board can go look at it and shoot some pictures for you. Or you could ask the seller for specific pictures, either way it wouldn't hurt to ask...

I drove 4.5 hrs for mine 7 years ago and I still have it today so you may get lucky. Just don't drive all the way out there and feel obligated to buy since you drove ALL that way.

Go for it! 4 weeks ago, I made a 1400 mile round trip just to find out an idiot in Stillwell Oklahoma lies severely, takes very good pictures, and doesn't know that bondo over rust is still rust! I asked many questions, got multiple pics from different angles, and still fooled. Then he had the nerve to text message me after I left talking crap. I wish you the best. 2 weeks later, I bought one less than 2 miles from my house!

Owner quit replying to my text. I guess he sold it. I think someone probably got a good deal.
