Older vintage air help
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone have a pic of how the defrost microswitch is mounted on a cable operated vintage air box? It's a stretch, I know, but calls to vintage aren't proving to be helpful.
I made a bracket for the cable but would like to know what it's supposed to look like. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Older vintage air help
How old is the system? You can look through my install thread in my signature from 2006. Mine used the cable operated system too. Maybe you'll see what you need (I'm not sure?)
Here's a pdf of the old cable style system instructions. What you need may be on pages 10 and 11? http://vintageair.com/DownloadsSecti...ols)%20Ine.pdf |

I can take a look at mine in the am.

Re: Older vintage air help
I have no idea how old the system is, but its surely not a newer version.
67redneck: the install pics are great, but for whatever reason the diagram I found shows three microswitches and also a vacuum controlled heater valve. Wideside72: I'd appreciate any input. Hopefully someone has the same system. Otherwise, I'll have to guess! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Older vintage air help
Yeah, I have the newest version I just installed in a 65 mustang... it's ALL electronic now, everything.
Are you looking for how the switch is wired or how the cable is supposed to be routed? Is the pdf I added your system? |
Re: Older vintage air help
I need the phsyical mounting location of the switch. The PDF is similar but not the same. It took forever but I did find a diagram that matched the components I have. 3 microswitches and 1 vacuum heater valve seem to be the difference.
I bought the system used and missing a few pieces. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Older vintage air help
Finally got in touch with a tech at vintage air. These guys really do have great support. He dragged an old unit out and sent me some pics. Definitely will use them for the next project, when I can buy new.
