A833 tranny issues/questions
 

This tranny is in a 82 K25 6.2. Happened about 2 weeks ago,got stuck in 3rd gear.No way I could get it out,talked to my neighbor that had this truck about 25 years & he said happened to him couple times too.He told me just pull side cover,straighten the flat detent plate on backside & reinstall.No luck putting cover on,couldn't get forks to line up so I pulled tranny & did it on bench.Put back into truck,seems to work ok.Drove it yesterday a couple hours & stuck in 3rd again!! Anybody else run into this? I had this truck on road since last Oct. without any trouble & would like to keep this tranny,works great for what I am using it for.Hopefully can still get parts too.
