Vent Line Blow Out.
Hey ya'll,
Was finally able to use my compressor and blow out the fuel and vent lines. Only old gas in the fuel line but the vent line, WHOA, a ton of charcoal-like dust blew out of those. What exactly has happened in that line for 40 years? 1972 Chevy stepside. |
Re: Vent Line Blow Out.

I did save some of the residue. It LOOKS like charcoal dust......but honestly, charcoal dust out of the line in the cab? *The line that goes up behind the passenger side door had nothing come out of it. The line from the tank through the cab floor, that one had a lot come out. I saved the stuff from the section that goes into the canister.....so....this charcoal canister, it breaks up and backs up into the cab?
Doesn't matter....all blown out now and the liquid fuel lines only had gasoline in them. Interesting call on the rubber line falling apart.....glad to be replacing those sections! Now to get the carb rebuilt. |
