Gear change help!
Recently got a'69 with 350 and three speed column shift. There is currently a lot of play in the column shift and I'm considering whether to fit a three speed floor shifter or try and "repair" the column change as I really like the column change.
Any ideas on how easy it it is get the column shift nice and tight again or any thoughts on 3 spd floor shifters!! I'm in the U.K so I can't just nip down the road and buy parts at my local auto store, these trucks are rare over here Any help greatly appreciated. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Gear change help!
WELCOME Badger,The link above will get you started right. The other big thing is to realize that even with the shifter in top shape and perfect adjustment, they are not built to speed shift.Once it's adjusted, just shift easy and let the unit have some time to do it's thing.

Definitely start with this link that's referenced in geezer#99's post:

Re: Gear change help!
Thank you all. That's given me somewhere to start.
