63" Rear spring swap
I'm looking for some input on a project I'm gathering parts for. I'm going to swap my rear springs out for the 63" newer versions in an attempt to get a softer ride out of my truck. I have a chance to get 2010 1/2 ton springs, 2006 3/4 HD or 60" 3/4 ton suburban springs. All are the same price. That said, would I be better off running the 1/2 tons and air bags for when I have to haul stuff, the 3/4 HD's and removing leafs to tune the ride or the suburban springs? All are the same price, newer style and 2.5 wide. I'm also setting up to run 52" springs in the front for the same reason. Your thoughts? Thanks for any advice!

Re: 63" Rear spring swap
I happen to be working on the same sort of set up. I have a 99 14 sf with 3/4 hd springs from an 02ish. The springs inherently ride smoother than the 9 pack I have. They're more progressive but have a generous load capacity. Its becoming a pain to find proper hangers however. Im thinking about making my own. I haven't started yet but it can't be that hard with proper tools and some elbow grease. I suppose your springs choice will depend on how often you intend to haul. The 1/2 ton springs with bags might suit you better if your not going to haul that much.

Re: 63" Rear spring swap
Thanks for the replies. I'm still waiting to hear back from the seller though I'm leaning towards the HD springs and removing a couple of leaves. Burn..... those rivets are giving me nightmares already as well as the new hangers. It looked like your new hangers came from the donor truck?
