auto swap

I was wanting information on all the parts needed to swap in a automatic. I have the 307 3-speed on the column with a dana 20. The 3-speed started hanging up on me the other day. I would really like to have a auto. Advance Adapters makes nothing for the dana 20. So I need the whole th350 205 combo. How hard is it going to be? Does anyone have the parts for sale. I have a good th350. Can I use it with a diffrent ext. housing? On what years can I find the parts? I know I will need the auto column, brackets and cables. I would really like to have a whole truck to take everything I need off of it. But I don't think I will find a 67-72 4x4 just for parts. 73up are everywhere but they have a diffrent t-case. When I bought my blazer I also got a 71 Jimmy for parts but it is also a 307 3-speed. I have been thinking for a while about a swap. Would swapping to a 4-speed be easier? I just want rid of the on the column stuff. Thanks for any help-opinions.

I have a '72 K-20 that I will be removing the th350/205 combo & driveshafts from soon to install an '80 th400/205 combo. The trans was rebuilt about 10-12k ago. That was about 8 years ago but I don't drive it much. Only thing it really needs is some transfer case seals. Works great, I just want the 400 setup in there since I have it. I also have an auto column & linkage from a 2wd truck. :flag:

auto parts

That's what I need. I may be able to get a column I don't know yet. But I need everything else. When you get it out let me know how much. The 3-on the column has got to go. I think the 4-speed would be better for towing but I don't do too much towing. I was also planning on building a 383 later. So I think the auto will be better. Just let me know.

You need to visit Minnesota! I have 3 4x4 trucks all with autos and NP205s, complete trucks for $800 to $1200. All the parts you need and then some.
