th350 to th400 with 70 factory tilt whell question
I have a 1970 cst with factory tilt wheel that am going to be chaging the th350 to a th 400. My question is if I use an original th400 from 70 truck with all related truck shift linkage, replace the indicator on the column as for a th400 will the indicator line up correctly and the column have the extra travel for the extra gear. Is the tilt column unique to the th350 and the th400?

Knowing GM, the column is the same.
BTW, TH350 and TH400 are both 3 speed transmissions |

Da my bad I was having a senior moment, yes of course they are both 3 speeds so nothing would need to be changed on the column and the indicator will match what gear I am in correctly?

Yes, correct. The linkage is slightly different however

you need a different driveshaft

The indicator will line up correctly as long as the shift linkage is adjusted properly after you get the new trans in, it is sometimes over looked so just thought I'd throw that out there.
