Steering column. & pedal assembly
Need recommendation for source of non tilt floor shift column.
Also converting to auto trans. Need source for pedal assembly. Thanks in advance! |
Re: Steering column. & pedal assembly
Didier makes some great quality products. Be wary of cheap imitation. Do some research on the cheaper brands. There is a thread somewhere on here regarding the poor quality of some Chinese brands. In a nutshell they have inferior design and welding that could fail. As for the pedal assembly, you already have it! Just disassemble the existing manual pedal assembly and remove the clutch pedal!

Re: Steering column. & pedal assembly
I would check the classifieds here first. On the brake pedal assy, I would definitely use an original used assy. NEVER trust your life on chinese products!!!!

Re: Steering column. & pedal assembly
I have done the column auto shift to floor shift (auto trans) swap. Spent many hours of research before making a decision. Bought a used column (non-tilt) off of a board member from the classified section. Needed a new bearing and turn signal switch but other than that it worked well. Had a tough time in the reassembly so take pics of the disassembly process if you go that route.
Ididit and Flaming River have the best member reviews (be careful of knockoffs as stated above by WIDESIDE72, there is some excellent reading provided in this forum on "other" brands). I will probably go this route for a tilt option in a few years. |
