1972 C20 conversion DUALLY frame 3/4 ton
1 Attachment(s)
1972 3/4 ton C 20 Frame that has been converted to a DUALLY with a 1988 front K member and Dana 70 rear end with 411 gears. Frame has factory 3/4 ton trailing arms and coil springs. Frame has been steam cleaned and painted. $400.00 firm. I am willing to part the frame out if anyone would like to buy individual parts off the frame. My zip code is 70605 Lake Charles LA
I also have a pair of FIBERGLASS step side fenders that are new. I was going to make a DUALLY out of a long bed truck. |

I wish I was done with my 67... I would get this to make a Hauler for my 67... great deal...

I also have the original overload set up for the rear. Frame brackets are still on the frame. I am willing to trade?? I am looking for a Dana 44 front axle with 373 gears and the 8 lug pattern.

Re: 1972 C20 conversion DUALLY frame 3/4 ton
I would like to do this dually conversion to a '72 c 20. I am a woman who has worked on cars with my dad (mostly engine work) while growing up but I know little about drive train/suspension and less about trucks.
Was the swap complicated or is there an axle which will essentially bolt in? Does the suspension brackets need to be moved or fabricated? I have alotta questions about this part. Not sure where to start. |
Re: 1972 C20 conversion DUALLY frame 3/4 ton
The crossmember from the 88 chevy one ton will bolt up to the 72 frame with the exception of one bolt on each side that must be red ruled. The rear axle is converted (72 frame uses trailing arms and the 88 axle uses leaf springs) using brackets made by captain fab (board member on here).
Wade (I bought this frame) |

Thank you Wade. At least I have a good start point. The 88 one ton axle sounds like the place to start. I'll have more questions if/when things progress.
