Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
5 gallons of dawn soap CLR and lysol will do that justice

Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
I want the front bumper....I'll bet the price is negotiable might get 4x4 for reasonable price
|
Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
I like it!
Too bad, it probably has a lot of rot in all the bad places. |
Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
At least it has a c.b., extra antifreeze and throwback 1999 license plates
|
Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
I don't think his price is crazy. It's craigslist. You put 2K on there you're going to get offers from $500-800. If he'll take $1500 for it, it looks like a decent truck.
For an ashtray that's inside of a vehicle that has all it's windows... that is the rustiest one I've ever seen. It looks like it laid in a pile of dirt and leaves for 20 years. Strange. |
Re: Poor truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Is it just me because it looks like there is no rocker left under the pass door.
|
Re: Poor truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Yeah, rocker is definitely gone. Looks decent otherwise.

Re: Poor truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
I had a winch front bumper just like that on my 1976 K-10 back in the 80's.....that was one STRONG bumper !

Re: Poor truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Come on, he doesn't really want to sell it. He just did that so his wife would quit nagging him :)

Re: Poor truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
With that topper on I'm guessing the bed might still be good.

Here's the truck ( in case the ad goes away ) . . . . |
Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Pretty sure there's a wildcat living under passenger door.

Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
And is that moss I see?

Re: truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
OK guys. Let's start over in a positive frame of mind.
As for price, he may have cruised CL, found a lot of hacked-up crappy trucks selling for well over 2 grand and thought he may start there. I like it and ya never know...it may or may not have a bunch of rust. For that matter, who here should care considering the majority of our project trucks end up with new bodies by the end of the restoration journey. After 15 years, that's really not a lot of exterior dirt & moss for this region (trucks rot from the top down here and frames are generally nice. As for the engine, there's always the chance that the mileage is right and with fresh fuel, battery, oil and TLC, that may be fine as well. I see the interior is quite clean, the body panels appear nice and straight, and, as the poster says, she's quite complete plus we see a lot of cool vintage add-ons including the canopy. All that said, when parked, it was obviously a very nice truck and has the added advantage of having not spent it's life in the rust belt. Many, many trucks that look like this can present a pleasant surprise. My 2¢ And, yes, maybe I'll just go look at it just for the ducks of it! :) |
Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
I phoned the CL poster and got an answering machine. Left my home email
and I'll report back when/if contact is made. I am sending them a link to this thread as well so please behave yourselves. :) |

Plus, we can meet for lunch! (you buy) :) If I hear from them and can warrant the $20 R/T gas (I only have my '68 DD), I'll post info and pics. |
Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Hey Ellen while we are on the subject of trucks close to you...have you seen this truck around? He's around you and Mark. I think price is high and it's been CL a long time. Just curious of its real condition and worthiness lol

Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Nate, I wouldn't have a clue on value (not my era)
but the truck does look familiar. Considering your location, it may be something to look into, price-wise. Respond to the ad and see what they say. It does look like they put some $$$ into it. As you probably know, the innitial cost of a truck is usually the least of your overall expenses on a project. If I see it again, I'll let you know. E |

Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
Patina is played out now having live moss growing on your vehicle is the new rage in custom trucks. ;)
|
Re: Truck on Seattle Craigslist.......
It's a complete 4x4, that chassis is worth almost that
