Need Porterbuilt Steering Help

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys I need some help with my build ASAP.
I have Porterbuilt stage 2 front and pro touring rear and I have
A stock replacement ididit steering column with floor shift.
My system came with the unisteer rack.
I can't seem to find any photos of the steering being connected from rack to column. I want to see if I can use one straight rod, with just 2 heim joint instead
Of 2 rods and 3 heim joint.
Any pic, ideas please send them my way.
Nate I'm going to forward this over to you to.

Also I want to run the exhaust out the side of the truck. Does anyone know
Of a company who make a exhaust plate to connect to the side of the truck that will keep exhaust from burning the plate the closet thing I could find was a photo of a Porterbuilt truck

You might check Fesler for the side exhaust. I looked on thier website and I do not see them listed but they use them on many of their cars and trucks. You could call and see if they make them.. I assume they can..

I wouldn't bet on any one steering hook up configuration until your exhaust header or manifold is in there. If you can get away with a single rod and two joints, that's awesome, but I don't think it's possible with the mild front. Nate would be the person to contact. Sweet build by the way!

Take a look at this build thread, page 2 and 3 for the steering information:

I hope this helps.

Re: Need Porterbuilt Steering Help

thanks that does help.
I think the only way I'm getting one shaft in there is if I send my steering
column back and have it shortened 3 inches.
