P245/75 R16 on my C20 3/4 ton 2wd- what rims?

I thought they were the stock split rims but now guessing they aren't. Was going to order new tires tomorrow while there was a sale on the
Transforce HT tires Size: 9.5R16.5LT. But when I went out to confirm the tire size it's just a 245/75 16". Guessing the PO changed out the rims???

Can anyone identify what vehicle these rims are off of?

going to go get try better pictures of the rims but it's dark....

I realize 16" tires shouldn't fit on a 16.5" rim...just being 100% sure ;)

And prefer a 16" as it's a much cheaper tire ;)

With 245/75-16s mounted, you do have 16" rims -- ignore the total outside diameter of 17" as per your 2nd pic. Many wheels have diameter & width stamped on the back side of the rim. For the record, the 9.5R16.5LTs you mentioned are virtually the same size & load capacity as most 245/75-16s.

Thanks, just making sure I wasn't missing something...didn't want to have to take a wheel off to look....may tomorrow when I'm in the shop up on a lift hopefully...

Good to know it's close to the factory size. I'll go back with this size when I buy new tires. Can anyone identify what these rims came off of (just curious) Thanks

Based on the hubcaps, look like an 80's Chevrolet 3/4 ton truck or Suburban.

Agree, 1973-87 GM 3/4 ton and 1 ton (SRW) trucks. Getting tough to find straights ones out there anymore, guess 25+ yrs will do that.

Thanks! Just glad they're 16" already so it'll be more affordable tires...I will be putting the "correct" caps on (73-75 caps with blue bowties added)

Yep,those are the 6 x 16s that came on GM trucks from '73 till they stopped using that type wheel in '91 on the RV models. You could easily fit the 265/75s for a slight bit of beef,or go with a more original looking profile for 16s with 235/85s. Those are the closest to the 7.50s that would be mounted on 16" wheels from factory

Thanks for the tire suggestions. I'm going to check with a local used tire place first before buying new....I've gotten almost new Michelin tires for a van we had for about 1/5th the new price. Having a few good options is helpful...I'd be happy with the stock size, what's on there now, or a "beefier" look :chevy:
