Does the dash unbolt?

I'm working on a 68c10 and the cab is stripped out, when I look under the dash there is bolts on the sides where it appears to bolt in but it seems to me that it's spot welded along the windshield edge, is this the case?

Re: Does the dash unbolt?

You are correct. Spot welds on top, and bolts on sides.

Do you need to take the dash out or just wondering?

The top of the dash is spot welded around by the windshiewld // but when removing the dash a short cut of sliceing the perforations under the dash pad can b done and when installing new piece it can b spot welded alot easir than removing the spot welds by the windsheild

As above; I'd recommend an angle drill and a proper spot weld cutter that'll help you not to punch through both layers (if you have any intent of drilling it out, that is).

There is also some bracing on the sides under the dash that have to be cut free if you cut the dash at the perforations. It's tough to get at that bracing I was able to get it with a sawsall. Then 2 bolts each side and it's out, It'll be something you'll cuss. They make a center patch panel if you're just trying to fix a jacked up radio hole or something, would probably be easier than the whole dash if you don't need to replace it.

Old chevy guy, I was just curious, gotta cut holes for A/C and paint so I thought it would be easier to be out but not now.
