How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife never used to be a big classic car or truck fan. That being said, she's taken an interest in identifying classics over the years and is doing a pretty good job identifying make/model and getting within a couple years. Anyone else's spouse taken an interest in these trucks, or classics in general?

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife loves classic cars now thanks to me, but she doesn't know much yet about year models and makes....she's learning more everyday though as I teach her....all I know is she loves riding in my truck and that's awesome enough for me!!!

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife knows to nod and smile when I point one out.
She also knows I like my old truck. |
Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My trucks knew way more about my wife... then my now x-wife ever knew about my trucks.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
my wife loves muscle, and driving muscle too. she even wants me to build my motor to a 383 but money talks you know.
shes always saying she wants me to finish so SHE can drive my truck. i told her i better put a chevette 4 cyl. motor in it then. hahahaha she loves bel airs actually. like 56. |
Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife isn't to good yet on identifying the trucks, but she's now pretty good with the 64-72 Chevelles :) We have a 67 Chevelle (along with our 72 truck) and I seem to quiz her probably more than she likes, but she can now identify the Chevelles. She even points out the mistakes on some of the other 67's we spot

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
Mine has been with me 40 years this June. In that time I have bought 100's of high-end imports for a dealership in New England for resale. One time I parked a 89 Bentley in our garage before shipping it to Florida, I blindfolded her and took her out to it, and asked her to ID it with out looking. After opening the door and slipping behind the wheel she closed the door and yelled Rolls Royce ! I just smiled and gave her a hug. As far as our 67-72's go, she thinks they have the most beautiful lines of any pickup ever designed, period !

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife has been wanting a pre-69 Mustang as long as I've known her. One of these days, I'll build one for her. In the meantime, she just nods and knows that every time I drag her to a swap meet, it means a good dinner out that night.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife is unreal----she digs right in when I hit the garage---sanding,grinding ect ect.We went to montana last sept and going down the road at 80 plus she would spot tracks and say theres a 67-72 chev/ 70s ford ect ect.We honestly got to Bozeman Mt early and spent 2-3 hours going up and down allies looking for old cars and trucks! Lucky? yep and she has been my best friend from the start--29 years ago!:smoke:

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
Mine has been with me long enough to make most men embarrassed when it comes to talking about classic trucks and cars. Our son just started his racing career this past summer and she is learning a lot about racing now lol.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
Mine can more than hold her own in conversation, mostly picked up the truck stuff from being with me. She also has her dads 65 GTO tattooed on her upper leg so id say she likes the classics.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
Oh yea, she's always liked these trucks. She has a 67 project in the garage and she won't drive anything but a truck, no cars unless there old muscle type. Always loves car shows and swap meets lot of times buys more than me.:smoke:

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
The only thing my wife knows about my truck is she doesn't want to help me paint another! I sanded the entire exterior of my truck to steel and had her sanding inside the cab, she spent about six hours sanding the ceiling when I decided to blow off the dust and see how she did, the second I started blowing the ceiling off all the paint she had spent hours sanding literally blew off! All of it. Whomever painted it before me obviously didn't clean the ceiling first. She was not happy. I did get her to sand the new exposed paint layer though, fortunately it was the original paint.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My soon to be wife would know how to build her own if she would ever listen. She does help spot them out on the roads and does want to get a 4x4 longbed to use as a work truck on our future ranch.

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife knows them quite well ,she always comes home telling me what old cars or trucks she has seen on her way to and from work. She has a 72 Malibu convertible and an 81 Trans Am and she loves driving my truck. She was upset when I sold my 55 Bel Air but was willing to sacrifice her hotrod 68 Malibu to start my 72 Chevy truck restoration .

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife knows enough to keep me happy. She just want me to get it done so she can drive it. :chevy:

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife is a amazing 67-72 spotter. On our last trip to Texas to visit her sister, she & her sister make a trip to town (about 5 miles one way). When they got back she told me she had spotted a 67-72 sitting towards the back of some ones property- thought I would want to stop & see if I could buy it. So, the next day I ran to town & looked for it coming & going (she even told me which side of the road it was on). I didn't see a thing! When I got back & told her & she gave a better description of where it was. The next trip I slowed down in the area she had told me about & finally spotted part of a tailgate in a barn! The guy wasn't interested in selling, but let me look at it (it was a 72 Cheyenne). I told her when I got back how impressed I was with her eagle eye- I am blessed!

No matter where we are, or what we are doing, I love it when she says "there's one of ours". No 67/72 can hide from her!

Imagine my surprise when we were out one time and she said "hey, that was a '56 Chevy!". Shocked, I asked her how she knew that. She humbly muttered something about "studying up" over the last few weeks. I was skeptical but willing to keep an open mind. I had her dead to rights when we pulled into the next town; there it was, with GIANT irridescent letters on the quarter panels that said " '56 Chevy". |
Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
My wife hated my truck...... But now the truck sits in the garage and she is out on her A$$.... Hehehe.....

Re: How educated is your spouse with 67-72's
She knows basically nothing and has very little desire to learn. I'm allowed to drag her to 2-3 shows a year (so I pick wisely) and under no circumstances will she ever go to another swap meet again.
However she does like my truck which is a vast improvement over what she thought of my Mustang. She knows I'm really into them and that's all that matters to her. Plus it gives me leverage for when she does something I have zero desire to do. |
