Typical rust spot questions.

Hi everyone! I recently bought my 1968 Chevy C10, about 5-6 months ago, and I wanted to ask... What are some typical rust spots on these trucks, I'm still learning much about these trucks as I am only 16, but I just really need to know what to look out for when I start the frame-off restoration. Thanks everyone!! if you would like to see pictured of my truck please go to my profile and check out my thread "My 1968 Chevy C10 (Finally Works)"!!!

Nice truck. I'll give you some areas of concerns for the cab, at least what I see in my area. Drip rail/window frame, cowl (most common near heater box), fresh air vents, kick panels, cab supports, inner/outer rocker, cab corners, and floor pans. Also common at lower corners and bottoms of doors

Thanks alot man! I appreciate it! From what it looked like, i have a lot of rust on the inside of the car near the top of the fron window, and around the drip rail. One of my corners looks to have rust but im not sure, and i havent checked the floor yet but it seems very solid. Thanks again!!

Well remember it's all fixable but I feel that is one of the more difficult areas. Do a search on the page and there is some very detailed write ups on rust repair that will help.

Can see the rust at the windshield in the pic and doesn't look good. Take some pics of that and inside. They have replacement roofs etc for these trucks, but depending on the amount of rust, sometimes it's easier to replace the cab if you don't have a buddy who's a welder with body work experience.

Yeah its not, I will try to get pics soon. I know a guy who does really good rust work, and over the summer im going to go there and have him teach me what to do so I can do it in his shop myself. He was a very nice guy and didn't mind to teach me. I might go search some yards for one in decent shape to replace mine with. Its very bad as the previous owner needed to use sealant on the inside of the top of the window. its across the whole part.
