Bench seat adjustment missing a part?

I believe there should be a spring on the passenger side to hold this adjustment pin in a locked position once the tension is removed. I'm not sure that the adjustment rod is routed correctly because it seems rather loose.

Thanks

I can't comment on the spring. I used this thread to modify my seat because my rod was all bent and didn't work right http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=263

Here are a few pics from a original seat from a 71 c10.
Pics are of passenger side adjuster.

clemsonteg great fix, thanks!

brian1971 that's the image I needed, thanks!

I believe the seat adjustment rod connects under the seat buy running through that metal clip in the middle which is why it's so loose now. Seems a strange way to do it. I may be missing something.:dohh:

One of mine had a "S" hook that hooked on the rod and on the back edge of the seat. Here is a scan from a parts book.

Joe,

That one is from my Blue '67 Chevy. It works great with the "Z" bent connector rod but I think it would allow too much movement on the straight connector rod and wouldn't allow the passengers side to release.
