positraction help

i need help buying the right size differential for my truck. i have a 12 bolt open differential right now. i want a 12 bolt limited slip but dont know what to buy.

does the spline have to do with the axle as well?

the spline count is how many grooves are in the inside end of the axle shaft where the shaft meets the carrier. as far as axles if you cant find a posi 12bolt that is set up for your truck it might be cheaper to just change the carrier to a posi unit in stead of buying a whole new axle just make sure the spline count on the new carrier is the same as you have now.
