Sunday night, litterally thousands of cars go up and down the main drag, thousand more people sit along the side of the road and watch. It happens every Sunday night and the traffic is twice as worse as rush hour. Unfouturently 75% of the cars on the road are driven by kids and arent anything special.

In my town there is about 3,000 people. So we see about 4 different hondas, a new ford focus, sometimes a 1967 Ford f100 and my friend did have a sweet 72 chevy pickup but his dad taded it in for a New dodge truck and my friend got an old mazda. he got 3500 for his 72 but it was perfect all original but needed the 350 rebuilt. But as soon as I get my 69 running it will be out there cruising the gut.

so tell me when you were a kid did you sit at home or ride you bicycle until you were an "adult" probably not i think some respect should be given to kids that actually take them time to work on vehicles or restorations like I have I could have just as easily been in a gang and been into drugs and all that stuff but no i chose to to the vehicle thing. a what did you drive when you were a kid anything special?

No that is Cruise Weekend a yearly event. Only one weekend a year. I can only dream that it could happen once a week.

Pisson, the kids that are out there are driving around here are in Mommy's mini van thinking that it is a race car meanwhile rearending people and causing accidents. They are out there for the social aspect and the majority of them know nothing about and don't want to know anything about fixing up cars.

BTW I am not all that old myself.

Wednesday Nights here...but only 3 67-72 trucks on a given night usually, close to 100 or so cars everynight. Tonight there was only one truck, a 1970 2wd Chevy Lwb fleetside (lowered). Only seen one fixed up 72' Jimmy 4x4 and a butchered 2wd 70 Blazer all summer, plus no Subs or Panels yet. That's really sad...

pissonNOS 08-27-2003 11:06 PM

well now that we have that cleared up. didnt mean to get mad at you or anything its just that ya i get it all the time when im cruising or people yelling thats itsa nice truck my dad paid for. just kind a got me

Gee_Emm 08-27-2003 11:14 PM

Ok maybe not 75% of them, prolly more like 60% of Mommy Daddy cars, 20% ricers and 20% classics.

Winnipeg is supposedly the car capital of North America. On Sunday nights through the summer there are a couple different large gathering places for cars, each location attracting a couple hundred cars each. There are smaller gathering places and on top of all this those thousands of cars on the main drag. It has gotten "worse" each year to the point of a huge discussion of how to get rid of the people or try to move them somewhere else.

hughnews1 08-28-2003 06:53 AM

ooops I forgot 900 vechiles + like 150 motor cycles ... zooo mzooom
