Eaton HO -52
I am going to be coming into possession of an Eaton HO -52 rearend soon. I've heard these are very hard to get parts for. Just trying to see if anyone needs this.
*Mods, I hope this is okay to post in this forum as I'm only trying to gauge interest and not selling or trading them at this time. |
Re: Eaton HO -52
They are a great rear end that is strong and reliable i have ran one on 40's for 18 years with regular wheeling. Some of the parts can be difficult to find but lots can be crossed over from a 14 bolt with a little work. Lots better ground clearance than a 14 bolt and a great conversation piece since most people do not know about them. Brake parts are worst thing to find and i work at a machine shop and am currently building a adapter to bolt on late model rear disc with parking brake system.

Re: Eaton HO -52
If you guys who like HO 52 need extras I have two you can have for pulling them out of my project trucks. I also have a HO 72 from a 1 ton dully camper you can have, I'm not going to try to sell these if no one wants them, they will end up being scrapped. Let me know if interested. Mike.

Re: Eaton HO -52
When I found the 4.10 (or 4.11?) center for mine there were people lined up to get the 5.38 center out of it for off road/ four wheeler rigs. The guys with the 47-54 pickups are always trying to get the centers out of the newer ones. Most of those early trucks had 4.56 or 5.13 gears and they just can't keep up on the freeway nowadays. Put a post in the AD section before you scrap a good 4.10 punkin. The old timers will thank you!

When steel scrap prices went through the roof years back, I think a lot of the HO52/72 rears around here went to the smelter. They don't seem to be so prevalent in the Northeast anymore. I'd like to get my paws on another 4.10 since somebody in the past beat on my adjusters a little.

Re: Eaton HO -52
It's all worth saving. Give this stuff away before scrapping, which is a cardinal sin.

Re: Eaton HO -52
I would be interested in that HO72 out of the 72. I have one in my truck now but the bearings are getting noisy and it is my daily driver I have been looking for one build while I drive the other one. Do you know the ratio of it or the HO52?

Re: Eaton HO -52
I wish you guys were closer to nm. I want to put one back in my k/20. I havnt looked too much but haven't seen many around here in the searching I have done.

Re: Eaton HO -52
I blew my HO 52 apart and i could not find anything for it so i switch it out for a GM Corporate rear and now i have no problems

Re: Eaton HO -52
Hey. I haven't advertised these for sale yet. Just wondering if there is any interest in these HO rear ends. For every ones information, one HO is in a 3/4 LONGHORN , one is in a 1 TON, LONGHORN rolling frame, one is in a 1 TON DUALLY CHASSIS CAMPER. These will be all none delivery. Way too heavy to ship. You pull cheap price. Reply back in this tread if interested. Mike.

Waah. Everything I want is on the other side of the country. :whine:
I'll be in Seattle this week. Do you think the airline would let me take one as checked baggage? :uhmk: |
Re: Eaton HO -52
Only if you fly over in a CARGO PLANE LOL

Re: Eaton HO -52
Put on your PinPals shirt and stuff that punkin into a bowling bag- Bob's your Uncle!
I know just what you mean about finding everything across the country. For a while I was ready to move to Florida-- |
Re: Eaton HO -52
I know a guy who put a muffler in a checked bag, to bring it back to the local parts store and get a new one on warranty.
Somehow I don't think a 40-pound, used-gear-lube-stinkin', pumpkin is gonna make it. :josh: |
Re: Eaton HO -52
Pretty sure your right- except that sucker has to weigh at least twice that. They are HEAVY.
