Is the cab on a c30 the same as a c40?

No. C10, C20 and C30 are the same. C40 and higher are the same. C30 and C40 are not the same.
When you go to C40 and higher the front is modified, you lose some floor pan.

The short story is I have a 69 k10 that I'm restoring. The cab I have is twisted from previous damage, along with the typical rockers, floors, and cab corners. My buddy has a 69 c40 he wants to scrap and the cab is in good shape. Looking at pictures the body lines appear to be the same.

The front corners are not the same, the fenders hook up differently. They have a flat floor since they essentially sit over the engine, but you could fix that part easy enough. It's the front bottom part of the cab that is going to be the problem.
You could possibly take the two cabs and make one good cab.

You could use what I call a Clip Cab, that is one cut through the windshield post and along the back panel[normally through the floor but it is different in this case]but then you would have to deal with the small back glass. Jim

I replaced the rockers and cab corners on my cab I have. It all needs finish welds. I put the doors on and the door gaps are horrible. I was going to bolt it down to the frame to square it back up to get the gaps then finish welding. Yes I did weld braces in cab before I got started.
I bought this truck in pcs. I had to build the frame. Started with 2 frame rails bolted together with a pile of cross members and brackets. The frame and axles are complete. I'm ready to mount the cab to show my wife that it really is a truck.
