50th Anniversary in trucks for sale

Interesting truck for sale in the 67-72 trucks for sale section. I think it needs to have some discussion here. VIN codes out to a 68 C30 SRW step side. SPID shows it's a 50th anniversary. The truck has an 8 foot bed on it. How many here think the original 9 foot bed was swapped out with the 8 footer? I think this could be a 1 of 1 anniversary truck.

The 9' bed was bobbed and numbers would suggest there were more than one when you consider stepside C30s outnumbered C30 Longhorns 13:1 in 68.

Good points Tim. I do see that used to be a 9 foot bed by the stake hole near the front of the front of the step fender. I thought the bed was swapped because of the different patina.

Until several years ago, no one knew step side 50th anniversary trucks existed until one was documented. This is definitely the first 9 footer with 50th package.

I saw that and it looks a bit rough......nothing for some of the guys on this page to handle though.

I'd like to have a 9 foot bed truck: that would be 3 more feet of hauling space over what I have now.

I'd buy that thing in a heartbeat if it was local. It kinda looks like maybe the bed was bobbed but it is definitely the 9' bed as it has 4 stake pockets. I don't know about 1 of 1 but a rare truck indeed, I've always loved these 1 ton steppers.

I love the 9 foot tricks too. I own a 68 and wanted to make it a tribute 50th truck. Mine needs lots of work but is drivable. This truck has my name written all over it, but don't have the cash to get it from Kentucky to here.

It's a shame such a rare and unusual truck was ruined by bobbing the rear. Especially with it being otherwise unmolested.

Hi bob sweet ride if you bought it ! I can't help but ask again I you never returned my phone messages or pm s but I never got a money order for the hub caps a few months ago ! Did your wife ever tell you if she sent one ? Is it lost in mail or do I need to write that up as a lesson learned not to ship someone something before receiving payment ? Thanks

I have a 1968 or early 69 longhorn But it has the 1967-68 front end and molding on the bed

I'm glad someone here bought this truck. I can concentrate on my 68 C30 step side and my extra 72 9 foot frame and bed might be turned into a trailer.
