Calling all factory ride members

Can anyone with factory springs or factory ride height springs measure from centre of hub to wheel well for me, truck has aftermarket springs but I have no idea if they are factory ride hieght or not, have drop springs on hand but don't want to do the work if the ride hieght is going to be the same. Thanks.

There's really no one common height measurement because a 45 year old truck will vary with tire and wheel size, the amount of collapse over time and use of the truck. There were different factory springs used as well depending on options ordered when the truck was built. If you plan on lowering the front, the first lowering option would be the "lowering spindles"...They will drop the front as much as 2-1/2" without changing springs or steering geometry. I have two 72 C-10 LWB trucks, one lowered and the other factory height with 16" wheels w/275/70/R16 tires. 19-1/2" inches on the factory front height, 15-1/4" inches on the dropped truck.

Fair statement on each truck will settle in it's own way and different options. The measurements you gave me are perfect, I can base line from there. Thanks.
