Anyone ever do this?

I was siphoning some transfluid out of my transmission and spilled fluid on top my battery a few days ago . I wiped it up but I think some seeped under the cap that I didn't clean up. So it had a few days to seep in the acid likely. I took the truck out today and each time I parked and restarted the truck it seemed like the starter was having a hard time cranking.thankfully once I got home it would not even start it. The batter is only 2 months old so I have a warranty thankfully. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this. I never had any problems since I had put the new battery in previously. Would a little bit of fluid kill a battery?
