Captain Fabs D52 rear caliper reviews

I have a 72 short bed that I am looking to upgrade the rear drums to disc. I am keeping my 15" steel wheels as I love the look of them. I ran across the CaptainFab bracket kit that allows the use of D52 Caddy calipers with e brake provisions. I am looking for feedback on this swap, as well as help with what cable was needed to make it work. Any other feedback will also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Bryan

Did mine a month ago. Used GSIMFAB brackets, d52 calipers and astro van rotors...all plug and play..

I ran across your post on those. Clean looking install sir. Thanks for the response. Did you use the Caddy calipers with e brake levers?

I haven't done it on this truck yet, but I have used the caddy calipers twice on 14b swaps in 4wd trucks. Ebrake isn't great, but does work. The calipers themselves though, work great and do the job well - especially compared to the old drums.

Can't say much on the rotors since the 14b are 8-lug, but the swap is near identical and 150% worth it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Any advise on master cylinders? I've noticed many use the early corvette disc/disc master cylinder. These are offered in a 1 inch bore (manual) and 1.125 bore (power). I've read that some use the manual master cylinder to get more pressure to the calipers for better stopping power. Anyone have any experience with this setup?

Yes they are. Up to 2006 I think.

I haven't used CaptainFabs D52 caliper brackets, but I did use his Impala SS rear disc brackets and his brake master cylinder/hydroboost adapter brackets and they were top notch and worked as intended!! They were shipped fast and still working as intended after 4 years!
Hope this helps
Mike
