I went with Hedman 69648 headers. On my 66 I had moved the engine forward one position so I had to grind off a sliver of the top frame edge but if you are still in the default back position it will clear fine. These are the thicker version of headers from Hedman that have heavier flanges and ceramic coating. 69648 is designed for Jeeps converted to a SB 350 but they fit our trucks great. Hedman makes the same headers in the original thinner wall/flange size as well but I don't have that number.

I don't mean to hi-jack but would these fit a manual trans truck as well?

LDO I think so but not completely sure. You can see in my picture at the far right side on the frame the original clutch bracket still riveted to the frame. With the engine in the default position (3" back) it would be close but probably still fit. Below is another angle showing this. Mine has been converted to automatic so I only have the column linkage that still cleared fine.

Thanks for the pics and info! I really like those headers, how's the heat in the engine bay?

Re: headers for 1966 c10

Heat in the engine bay seems about the same as running cast iron ram horns. They don't seem as hot as other cheapo headers I ran in a previous truck. The thicker flanges were a big plus for me since those same cheap headers I had years ago warped and leaked. The ceramic coating keeps them looking like they are still new.
