Fan/fan clutch for 71 C10 with 350 HO with serpentine belts
Hi All,
Just had a GMC shop install the 350 HO turnkey engine in my 71 C10. They put in a new aluminum radiator but ended up installing a direct drive fan. They say they couldn't find a fan with a clutch that spun the reverse direction and had enough clearance. Does anyone have this setup? Any thoughts on parts to use? Thanks, Jeff |

You're probably going to have to use an electric fan set up on your aluminum radiator. A dual fan set up with shroud will be ideal for cooling your engine.

I don't know why a fan and clutch from a 87-95 wouldn't work. A similar van may be even smaller. Or a S10 4.3 style with screw-on fan (but you would have to change the water pump) is not as long. Do you have any photos?

I have a serpentine setup out of a 90 suburban with a 350. I couldnt use the stock one as it was to big for the shroud. I went with this one, from summit racing. Flex-a-lite Reverse Rotation Clutch Fans 5917, Im not sure how well it will work as I have only drove the truck 20 miles or so. I didnt want one without a clutch. Might be an option.
