Suggestions-recommendations cab-door related weatherstrips

After doing many various old car builds over the years I've found quality weatherstrips, window channel-wiper, front and back glass etc. are very hard to find with any real quality fit. I learned Softseal seems to have quality better than most so I've gone that direction the past couple of years. You guys have any experience you can pass on?

Thanks,

You can read through this thread. It is in the Suburban And Panels forum but it would apply to trucks too.

It is three pages long and you have to pretty much read the whole thing, but a lot of good weatherstrip information in it, especially about vent window rubber.

I just looked over that thread. Thanks for the link and for posting that information! Any thoughts on windsheild-backglass rubber or door to cab weatherstrips?

Thanks,

I have always used Precision brand windshield/back window gaskets and have had good luck with them. Someone suggested Steele Rubber gaskets and someone else said that Steele got their windshield and back glass gaskets from Precision, and re-branded them. I don't know. As far as the door seals it depends on whether you want glue on or push on. Both are available through parts vendors. I know Brothers handles both styles. If you don't have a lot of available cash you can go to your local Pick_N_Pull and get a set of push on seals off of an '87-'97 Dodge Dakota pickup. They work great.

Thanks for the advice on the door seals. I just don't want to run into the issue I have so many times before where I have to slam the door because the seals are too thick or too hard rubber.

Depending if your doors have ever been adjusted in over the years because of deteriorating original door seals you may have to adjust them no matter what new ones you use.... Which ever ones you get make sure they have some holes punched in them to let the trapped air escape when the doors are closed.
