350 Stock Exhaust Upgrade Suggestions ?
Planning on replacing the stock exhaust on my 71 GMC, 350 with original 2in ramshorn manifolds. Was quoted over $800.00 by local shop to build a dual setup. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks:metal:

I bought the Hooker dual exhaust kit from JEGS for my '72 -- Hooker #16621HKR,
along with a pair of the recommended Hooker #21005HKR mufflers. The grand total for the kit and mufflers came in around $300 or so at the time. Other than the fact that the mufflers are louder than I would like (wish I had gotten larger mufflers) I am very happy with this kit |

Guess I got off cheap. I had a dual exhaust put on my 70 2 1/2" for $225 including mufflers and tail pipes. Might check around at a few places.

I agree....$800 seems VERY high ! Does that include buying the rams horn manifolds as well as the rest of the exhaust system ?? |
Re: 350 Stock Exhaust Upgrade Suggestions ?
The cost will also depend on tubing used (galvanized vs stainless), how it is bent (mandrel - smooth bends vs standard exhaust tubing bender - crimped bends), if a cross-over is installed, if removable clamps/joints are installed to make the system removable vs fully welded, and quality of mufflers.
