71 K10 stalls out

Hello,
New here and hoping for some input. I have a 71 Cheyenne that up until a week ago was running great. Of a sudden it has started to stall out. It will usually start right up again and go. It may last a few days with no more trouble but then this past Friday it stalled several times. We eventually got it home. Jumped in it yesterday and it ran fine with zero issues. I have changed the rock filter. Could this be the fuel pump going bad? Working part time?
Any suggestions will be welcome.
Thank you

Need more info to help better
Original carb?
What engine.
How old cap rotor plugs wires etc.
Dist with points?
When is won't start hit gas on carb. Squirt gas?
When it won't start put timing light on a check for spark
Simple things to check are
Vacuum lines
Getting fuel
Getting spark
Could be a lot of things. Coil etc.
until you do a few simple tests kinda hard to zero in on it.
Do that and report back what you came up with.

Welcome! What's a rock filter?

It might be a fuel pump -- or fuel filter -- or if it's getting fuel, maybe an ignition coil or something else with the ignition system. Still have a points distributor? Could be a points-related problem.

HEI distributor? It could be the module going bad. We need some more info.

Thanks for the replies. I will check those things where I can. Fuel, spark etc. A rock filter is what the fuel filter is called. Looks like pressed brass in a cone type shape that is right at the carb.
Engine is a 350 with 4 barrel. To my knowledge original.
Thanks again

OK, thanks -- my K20 has one, but in 40 years I never heard it called that. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Hope you get 'er figured out soon.... let us know. :chevy:
