Tenn lost title. Hard to get a new one?

Is it difficult to get a new title , for a truck bought without one, in Tennessee?
I read about other states that it's next to impossible to get a new one.
I looked on the Tn DMV site, and it looks pretty easy, but what looks easy isn't always.

Do you have a bill of sale from the last registered owner ? Old registration ? anything from the seller ? We used to be able to walk in with a written bill of sale . Not any more .When you retitle a truck in Tn be it just a vin plated cab or the entire truck, along with the title mailed in 2-3 weeks you get new registration and tags , no inspections in Tn :chevy:
