I thought my steering felt a little off...
...Last time I was on the freeway. I even gave my front tires a good kick when I got to where I was going. They seemed fine so I figured it was me just being overly sensitive.
That was a few weeks ago. Fast forward to today. I ordered one of those tough-sheds and today was the big day. The guys came and built it and all that was great. Later, I was sitting in the shade after shoveling some gravel outta the truck and I noticed something amiss. This is the view from where I was sitting: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...ps5rahbtxq.jpg I could just see enough of the truck to notice this: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pscxzmb87z.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pszkonuvxl.jpg I guess that's why my steering felt off the other day. Looks like I'm off to the bolt store tomorrow:lol: Oh, so here's the new shed in all it's glory:metal:: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psut7byoio.jpg Now maybe I can get enough stuff outta the shop so I could-I don't know-maybe have somewhere I could work on sway bar bolts or something... |
Re: I thought my steering felt a little off...
Nice shed, naughty truck for throwing away those bolts, good thing you inspected it. Those sure are nice wheels.

Re: I thought my steering felt a little off...
Yeah, when a sway bar is loose or has bushings that are shot it can handle worse than having none. Funny how we can sit an ponder, or daze w/o thought, and see important things we may never have noticed otherwise.
Congrats on the new shed. I'm sure it's a quality of life improvement. That's what I call stuff that is as much an improvement to managing my life as much as cosmetic, property value, etc. |
Re: I thought my steering felt a little off...
All fixed! Wasn't even too much of a hassle:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psthfvauta.jpg But once I was done and picking up my tools, I thought "Wow-I really made a mess with the red thread locker!" Then I realized that it wasn't red thread locker: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psajgschtb.jpg :lol::lol: I looked all over and couldn't find where it was leaking out at, so I sat down and concentrated on what hurt. Soon my attention was directed at my right elbow. I guess I skinned the backside of my elbow and opened up a flow:waah: |

Re: I thought my steering felt a little off...
One less thing to go wrong on my truck....I don't have anti sway bars!
I've cut myself before too and not noticed it, just saw the blood. Last time was in March when I was in a rush to get my tire chains on and drive up the access road to Okemo Ski Resort in Vermont. I saw blood on the steering wheel and only then did I notice I had torn a fingernail away from the nail bed. Ouch! The cold soon took care of the hurt though and later, when the snow was up to the bottom of my car door, I was very thankful God had saw fit to "convince" me to put my chains on before it got really bad. :) |

And speaking about cuts you don't notice...As a career concrete mason I tie a lot of rebar, and there ain't nuthin' sharper than cut tie wire. All you have to do is brush up against it and slice! You usually don't even notice until blood starts dripping off the end of your tying plyers.:waah::lol: |
