Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
That is just what I need. Man I wish I lived out there where the good trucks are.

Hmm it's in Washington state, I bet D.B. Cooper used that to haul that money to escape...

Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
I also wish I lived where that could be my everyday work truck year 'round (without ruining it with salt). I've lived in the wrong place and always knew it. I've had every gal I've gotten serious with say, "I'm not moving out there just because of rust". Ironic, I'm sure the women are better out there, too! I'd tell them living here knowing your second biggest investment in life will get eaten up is like living in a beach house you know will get slammed with a hurricane at some point. Yep, have lived in the west a couple times, both times came back expecting to return, but met a gal and stayed. I'm such a sucker!

Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
Cheap enough to pay shipping and still make out. And it was just what the doctor ordered...for me. I've been working out of my '72 which was never the intention. I'd like to relieve it of those duties and give 'er a life of pleasure.
Also, getting more personal, I have a wonderful old girlfriend in Portland I would love to hang out with some and I need a vacation. Too bad I'm on such a tight budget. I have the money set back to get me through winter. It's gone now. |

Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
How did that turn out? Did I see a thread where you were dead in the water in western CO? All I could do was feel for you and relate to the situation. I hope that helped a little!

Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
Made it home no problems, waterpump stopped leaking even  very nice running truck with a sweet 454 in it. I drove it fairly hard at 65 mph for hours and hours on end...did not burn any oil the whole trip, 2470 miles.
The last part of the trip was iron butt, getting up and leaving Grand Junction at 7:00am and driving non stop to Austin, TX. Got in the following day at noon. |
Re: 1972 4X4 Craigslist...cheap
Yeah, all day, night, and half another day is a grind. That kind of running makes my eyes feel like two pee holes in the snow . I'm glad it fixed itself. These Chevys have a way of doing that. It's as if they don't want to be Found On the Road Dead
