Enclosed car trailer question.
I am looking at buying a car trailer. I need it long enough to haul long bed pickups. Is 20 feet cutting it too tight? The next size up is 24' and regardless of length I am going with 5200 lbs axles. Anything else I should consider in a purchase?

It'll fit, a little tight, but it fits.

Re: Enclosed car trailer question.
I own a 24' and have hauled a full sized long-box pickup in it. You need room to squeeze up front to strap down the front. I think a 20' would be uncomfortably tight.
Is there really that much of a savings going with a 20'? Also consider resale value, I think a 20' would be a harder sell. You are wise to be looking for 5200# axles. I used mine to haul cabinets for about 10-12 years, then it was totaled in a hailstorm so I bought it back and use it mainly for a garage space now. Good luck. Greg |
Re: Enclosed car trailer question.
Make sure it has the passenger door in it on the side. Make sure it has the hold downs installed in the floor into the frame of the trailer. Make sure you get one with the roof vents.
The roof vents are the same opening as a roof AC unit so in the future if you decide to put air in it then you just take the vent out and install the AC unit. I did this back when I had mine. I just put a drop cord end on the unit and plugged it into the power.:chevy: |
